Amanda Davis, Principal
I am humbled and grateful to introduce myself as the principal of Jim Thorpe Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a community of thriving learners, involved families, and dedicated staff. I have been in the Clark County School District for 16 years as a teacher, mentor, and administrator. On a personal note, I have three children who also attend schools in the Clark County School District. I fully understand the challenges and rewards you face every day as you work to ensure your child has the best educational experience. One of the most important aspects of my work here at Thorpe is building strong relationships with students, teachers and families. You’ll find me in the hallways, classrooms and on the playground getting to know your child(ren). My goal is to foster life-long learning, provide high-quality instruction, and nurture our students in their academic, social, and emotional growth. With that in mind, you can expect that I will work diligently with the staff to make sure our students are exposed to curriculum and instruction that is both engaging and challenging. I have an open door policy and welcome your input and ideas. I’m looking forward to meeting each of you as we start this new and exciting year together where we are all “Keeping the Dream Alive!”
